Once someone learns of the doctrine of election, this is usually the next question to be asked. Mark Kielar puts this question in perspective and shows that if you're an unbeliever, this isn't really what you should be concerned with yet. http://www.firstboynton.com

  1. CONN Says:
Hi Again LaneCH, Point taken and agreed with, --------------------------------- I also believe God can see far into the future and he knows NOW who will accept Jesus and Who will not. If that is what that man ment by God's elect, he should have said so. He made it sound like, unsaved should hang about and wait, if you don't hear from God directly then they are doomed. what utter rubbish.
  2. Payne Says:
Oh, I see now. I couldn't tell who you were talking to thanks to Youtube's commenting system. I do believe in God's sovereing dispensation of grace, though. I don't, however, believe that anyone will be in Hell who doesn't love their sin and I don't believe that there are people in Heaven who do love their sin. In other words, people will be in Hell because they love their sin, and people will be in Heaven because God's grace changed their hearts.
  3. Braden Says:
Hi LaneCH, It seams I've posted to this video by mistake. It was intended for another man who claims to be Calvanist, he was saying that there was nothing anyone could do because God has already decided, everyone else was eternaly lost no matter what. I'm sure you'll agree Jesus would never be that unkind. I was having a go at that man not you. I hope you will accept my apolegies. God bless you.
  4. MIKA'IL Says:
Exactly how does "Calvanism seem to imply that a partial victory goes to Satan"? Not only should you substantiate your claim, but I hope you explain it further because I have no idea what you are talking about or how you would logically deduce that from Cavlinism.
  5. Atiya Says:
Has everyone forgotten why Jesus bled to death. To break the curse of Satan, that was put in on mankind in the Garden of Eden. God's plan was a complete success, not a partial one. Calvanism seams to imply that a partial victory goes to Satan. Jesus defeated Satan's cunning plan with 100% success. The door is now open for all, who come to Jesus in simple, trusting, childlike faith who are willing to follow him. The only spoils Satan will get are those who wilfully reject our Lord Jesus Christ.
  6. Jerrilyn Says:
I give the video, along with, the postings 5 stars. The dynamic trust I have in Christ is supported by logic and/or evidences.
  7. Shahana Says:
And you verify or check faith by what? Peter wrote that we must have an answer to the "hope" which lies within us, not the logic. Paul says the most important things are faith, hope and love, not logic. Faith is what it is, the hope which lies within us. Logic is not a matter of the heart.
  8. Daryl Says:
I have read your corspondance with this guy and don't understand your response to him. You could have said "we'll just have to agree to disagree". You said "If I lost sleep over every person who thought that about me..." What did he do other than ask a question and make a small joke. I mean why do you even bother making videos if you can't take the good and the bad comments. You could have just deleted the comment, but decided to let everyone see your anger and your back side. Sad , very sad.
  9. Connie Says:
Actually ronaldec7, faith in logic and logic in faith are necessary for both; or both are useless. Let me explain. Anyone who studies, believes in, and uses logic (aka principles that assess the truth of a thing [e.g., law of non-conradiction])must place faith in its validity in order to confidently use it. This is faith in logic. Also, if the object or assertion of a given thing which is believed (faith) is checked and verified by logic, then this is a logical faith. This is logic in faith.
  10. Owyn Says:
And secondly, God is not obligated to save anyone. Also, thirdly, man has a free-will or moral agency within his nature so that he REALLY does choose freely and uncoercedly WITHIN HIS NATURE. He does not have the freedom of will to will APART FROM HIS NATURE. Free-will is a bad term and a meaningless one, for it conveys an untrue concept. The question is not really one of whether man has a free will or God coerces it, it is rather "Is the state of man evil so that his will is enslaved to it?"
  11. Mab Says:
The Cross of Christ is esteemed worthy if it accomplishes HIS objectives. Christ's suffered no less whether it is to the few or to the many. He suffered for sin (the whole principle of the thing), not just sins(individual acts). If salvation is by grace and not by works, it necessitates an election. God could save all, or he could save some; but it is important to remember two things, firstly, the salvation of each one either way depends on an election not conditioned by anything in the creature
  12. LULOAH Says:
In fact, faith is founded on facts (assertions), for faith must have an object of trust. The reasonableness or logic of a particular faith is dependent to the existence and certainty of that particular object. Because faith is merely a confidence, trust, or belief about something; everyone has faith about many things all the time. For example, I believe (have faith) strongly that this message will reach you because I place faith in YouTube's servers. So, a reliable faith depends upon facts.
  13. Niall Says:
SalvationEternity777, Although I would agree with you that it is not necessary that every act be predestined, nor do I believe that Scripture teaches that, the Bible says that some particular people are predestined to be called, be conformed into the image of the Son, bear good fruit, and to show forth God's praises. So predestination of persons according to the sovereign election of God is altogether true and Biblical. Good point against hard determinism, though.
  14. AKHENATEN Says:
Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, 4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, 5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.
  15. AGNETA Says:
I posted this elsewhere but I'll ask you the same thing and ask you to ponder it in light of scripture. Whose faith is more acceptable to a holy perfect God that demands perfction? Your which is tainted by sin? Or Christ's who lived a perfect life and whose faith never failed even one time? Whose faith is accptable to God for salvation? His or yours? If His then you have no part in your salvation and certainly don't have the will to choose Him.
  16. Joanna Says:
If what he promised in Genesis about bruising the snake didn't come to pass, God would be a liar, and as the Bible says, his gifts and calling are without repentance. Ephesians 1:4-5, 11 is great information about God's sovereignty.
  17. DEVON Says:
The point is, God is not a man that you're playing Chess against. God is the Creator of man. It's very dangerous to compare him to one. What he says comes to pass. It's the only way to accurately explain prophecy. According to Acts, Christ himself was delivered by God's determinate counsel. Open Theism makes a mockery of God. If what God speaks doesn't come to pass, then Christianity is worthless.
  18. Capucine Says:
God knows whats going to happen no matter what. It doesn't necessarily mean it's pre destined. We are the ones acting out using our free will. Imagine yourself playing chess against a person who has the ability to read your mind. He has the ability to spot your thoughts and moves before you even knew them. This person can obviously win any game of chess and you obviously wouldn't stand a chance. But the question is; Is he responsible for your moves? No, your making them, not him. Get it?
  19. ALGER Says:
You don't think I'm very loving, huh? If I lost sleep over every person who thought that about me, I wouldn't sleep much at all. I'll let you know how I slept in about 8 hours if it's true that trivial, pejorative assertions have a history and a tendency to occupy my thoughts for a period of time. For your sake, I wouldn't lose sleep over it if I don't, though. (No pun intended.)
  20. MARSYAS Says:
Now that is very mean. Sleep well tonight.
  21. Griorgair Says:
Obviously you think that when Jesus knocked Paul off the horse, He had Paul do something like walk the road, kneel at the crossing, and say the sinner's prayer or something of the sort. It goes to show again that faith coincides perfectly with logic if it's faith in Jesus Christ who was the logos made flesh. I have other things to do than reject more of your illogical assertions like those I've already rejected. For now on, you're simply blocked.
  22. FRICI Says:
What's really sad is that you won't have to think much when you're gnashing your teeth and groaning forever after you're cast into hell for your unbelief on the last day. It will come very natural, that's for sure.
  23. Lucas Says:
whoo!! whooo! whoo! Mr. LaneCh Sir, Paul was on his to get the Christians in Damascus and was blinded by a visit from Jesus and believe and ummm... ahhh became a Christian. I'm sorry if I seem to disrespectful there, but I think a little Humor break is in order.
  24. Elizaveta Says:
It's obvious that you don't consider faith in Jesus Christ to be logical. If it's true that you know all the facts about Christ and are willfully rejecting him, then it just shows that you are an illogical person. If you aren't sure why people truly believe in Christ and your "logic" springs from ignorance, then I'll share the Gospel with you. Either way, though, your assertions spring from a love for your sin, not from any logical reasoning.
  25. Muire Says:
Obviously you don't believe faith and logic coincide. It's the only logical conclusion one can make whenever you make assertions like unless we get to choose what we believe we are zombies. That makes no sense whatsoever.
